Shoulder Patch Requests

Hanahan Police Shoulder Patch

Since the inception of our web site, we have received numerous requests for departmental shoulder patches from collectors. Due to the cost and time involved in answering all of these requests, the Hanahan Police Department regrets to inform you that we will not honor any requests for the departmental shoulder patches at this time.

We also ask that you refrain from sending any e-mail requesting patches, as it will delay our answering other e-mail inquiries in a prompt manner. Any e-mail received on this subject will not be replied to. We thank you for your cooperation in this matter, and if our policy should change in the future it will be announced on this web site.

Our agency will participate in an "exchange in kind" trade with other law enforcement agencies for their departmental collections only. To obtain a last generation patch which was proudly worn by a Hanahan Police Officer ,the following protocol must be followed:

  • Any request from within the United States must originate from another law enforcement agency and must be submitted on agency letterhead bearing the signature of the agency head. Our patch can be displayed for agency use only, not for individual patch collections.

  • We will not honor any patch request from outside the United States.

  • A reciprocal patch from the requesting agency must accompany the inquiry.

  • Requests made in compliance with our policy should be directed to:

Quick Tip
Crime Prevention Tip

Seat belts are the most effective safety devices in vehicles today, estimated to save 9,500 lives each year. To get the most benefit out of your seat belt, you should wear it low over the pelvis with the bottom edge touching the tops of the thighs. The shoulder belt should be worn over the shoulder and across the chest, not under the arm and over the abdomen. Make certain that the shoulder belt is not worn so loosely that it does not slide off your shoulder. Pregnant women should wear the lap belt below the abdomen and the shoulder belt above the belly.
